BAY15D 60 SMD 2835 Very High Output 'Ultimate' LED Lamp.
This ‘ultimate’ very high output LED lamp has been specially designed for maximum light output and is popular for use in navigation light fixtures.
On board voltage spike and excess current protection.
Light output of this LED lamp exceeds that of our 60 SMD VHO ‘compact’ lamp due to increased spacing of LEDs and the use of special thermally efficient and ventilated PCB substrate. This new 60 SMD 2835 (626 lumen) LED lamp was designed and constructed to maximise both output and is thermally efficient.
The lamp is popular for replacing both 10W and 25W incandescent lamps traditionally used in both signal and navigation lights and ideal for use on both 12 Volt and 24 Volt systems. In cool white this LED lamp can be used for stern, steaming mast head and anchor lights for all boats up to 20 metres (65ft). Do not use cool white lamps behind separate red, green, or combined bi and tri-coloured lenses, the output colours will not be correct.
In warm white the lamp is popular for use behind the bi-colour red and green combined lenses and for tricolour lights for all boats up to 20 metres. For the brightest light output use green lamps behind green lenses and red lamps behind red lenses.
Use of the ‘Ultimate’ lamp will further improve your visibility compared to our Very High Output 'compact' lamp. Recent tests have demonstrated that light from this lamp at the mast top is visible for over 6 miles. It’s suitable for both larger craft and smaller boats where owners wish to be seen from much greater distances. The light output will exceed the COLREG visibility requirements for all boats up to 20m whilst drawing only 33% of the current taken by a 25W incandescent lamp.
The lamp is designed to minimise EMI, unlike other similar looking lamps sold for non marine use. We utilise specially designed PCB layouts which avoid tracks acting as antenna that radiate EMI (electromagnetic interference). This bulb has our on-board PWM, Buck-Boost, electronic control circuit which allows the lamp to operate satisfactorily even when smart battery chargers are used. The lamp has an on board electronic fuse and voltage spike protection. These combine with 60 high output SMD LEDs to give consistent light output and a very long service life.
Boatlamps recommend using Contralube 770 Gel on all lamp holder contacts and other connections on your boat. This product will protect against contact corrosion which is the most common reason both LED and traditional incandescent lamps flicker or fail.
Please regularly check that your navigation light fixtures are water tight. Gaskets harden over time and poorly sealed cable entries are prone to leaking. This is very important for bow mounted fixture that can be submerged occasionally particularly in heavy seas. Our warranty specifically excludes damage to LED lamps due to salt water contamination.
These lamps are not polarity conscious as they are fitted with a diode bridge rectifier and can therefore be connected either way without damage.

Try to mount AIS and other sensitive antenna remote from all LED lamps, as far is practicable. Some sensitive receivers can be affected by the low level of EMI emitted from LED lamps.
Important: In common with other replacement LED lamps on the market, it is not possible to have any sort of marine authority certification for individual replacement bulbs. These LED lamps are easily visible at distances exceeding 3nm in standard fixtures and is one of the brightest replacement LED bulbs available. Given the vast array of navigation light fittings installed on marine vessels, it is the user's decision alone whether to use this product to retrofit any particular light fitting used for navigation purposes.
