30 extremely bright SMD LEDs are arranged to provide maximum 360 degree light output from this cone ended festoon lamp suitable for use in many types of navigation lights. In warm white it’s suitable for use behind bi-colour red and green navigation lights for boats up to 12 metres. In cool white it can be used for both stern steaming and anchor lamps for boats up to 20 metres. Use green lamps behind green lenses and red lamps behind red lenses.

This bulb has our on-board PWM Buck-Boost electronic control circuit which combine with high output LEDs to give outstanding light output and a long service life. These lamps are designed to minimise EMI, unlike other similar looking lamps sold for non marine use. We utilise specially designed PCB layouts which avoid tracks acting as antenna that radiate EMI (electromagnetic interference).

Boatlamps recommend using Contralube 770 Gel on all lamp holder contacts and other connections on your boat. This product will protect against contact corrosion which is the most common reason both LED and traditional incandescent lamps flicker or fail.

Note: Hella Marine 3562 series of navigation lights use a special Festoon lamp that has a fork arrangement soldered onto one end. If you wish to use a replacement LED lamp in these fixtures the lamp needs to be modified to fit these fixtures. For more information please click here.

Please regularly check that your navigation light fixtures are water tight. Gaskets harden over time and poorly sealed cable entries are prone to leaking. This is very important for bow mounted fixtures that can be submerged occasionally in heavy seas. Our warranty specifically excludes damage to LED lamps due to salt water contamination. If you are unable to prevent water ingress then please use our waterproof lamps.

These lamps are not polarity conscious as they are fitted with a diode bridge rectifier and can therefore be connected either way without damage.

Important: In common with other replacement LED lamps on the market, it is not possible to have any sort of marine authority certification for individual replacement bulbs. These LED lamps are easily visible at distances exceeding 3nm in standard fixtures and are the brightest replacement LED bulbs available. Given the vast array of navigation light fittings installed on marine vessels, it is the user's decision alone whether to use this product to retrofit any particular light fitting used for navigation purposes.
